Location: Allen Bales Theatre
Description (taken from theatre Web site): Welcome to Harlem. The sixties reign supreme outside the doors of a small storefront church. Enter strong-willed Miss Margaret Alexander, the female pastor. Once praised by her congregation, she now faces trouble as her long-lost husband returns to the city and causes tension amongst the fold. Keeping herself and her church together is near impossible as she struggles with feelings for this wicked man and her wayward son. James Baldwins powerful play about the double-edged sword of righteousness is transformed into a rousing, emotional musical of faith and redemption, with a spine-tingling contemporary Gospel score.
